Egypt, Workshop & Photography tour January 2024

Day 01, January 11: ORIGIN - CAIRO

Arrival in Cairo and welcome by our staff at the airport.

Transfer by car to the hotel (Hotel Cosmopolitan or Similar) and check-in formalities.

Day 02, January 12: CAIRO

In the morning, you will begin your tour by visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilisation.

Then you will have lunch in a restaurant near the pyramids area.

Then transfer to visit the pyramids of the Giza plateau: Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, the only wonders of Antiquity still standing. We also visit the Sphinx and its solar temple.

Finally, transfer to dine on the terrace (Home made food) of Jasmine private hause, watching the sunset in front of the Sphinx.

Return to the hotel (Hotel Cosmopolitan or Similar) and rest.

Day 03, January 13: CAIRO - BAHARIYA - WHITE DESERT

Breakfast and at the scheduled time departure from Cairo hotel to Bahariya Oasis, located 380 kms from Cairo, about 4 to 5 hours on private minibus. Arrival in Bawiti, capital of Bahariya.

We will visit the museum of the mummies and some of the tombs that will not leave us indifferent.

We will have lunch while we prepare the 4x4 cars to start our adventure in the desert.

We will visit the Black Desert, an extensive area of the western desert covered by rocks of a deep black color, product of the intense volcanic activity in ancient times. Then we will see the Crystal Mountain and the Agabat Area.

Arrival to the White Desert, a natural protected area since 2002, where there are rock formations formed by wind erosion over thousands of years on Crete limestone, a sedimentary rock, which is the material that causes its particular white color and contrasts with the yellow color predominant in other areas of the desert.

The White Desert is part of the great western desert of Egypt and formerly constituted an inland sea, so it is possible to find fossils of marine animals among the rocks. At night you will see a constellation of stars unlike anywhere else in the world!

Dinner in the white desert, tonight will be spent camping and sleeping in tents with mattress, sleeping bag and blankets.

Day 04, January 14: WHITE DESERT - DAKHLA

In the morning, breakfast and continue the search for different rock formations on the way to the oasis of Farafra, where we will visit a local museum of Bedouin Artists.

We will continue our route by private mini bus, about 2 & half hours to the Dakhla Oasis.

Lunch at the hotel served by Bedouins and bath in a thermal pool near the hotel.

In the afternoon we will visit the ancient Islamic city of Al Kasr, built in the 12th century on the remains of a Roman fortress in the northwest of the oasis, where you can see the style of the houses of the Middle Ages in the Oasis, with narrow alleys that form an endless maze of corridors.

Lodging at the hotel (Hotel Dohus or similar) Check-in formalities and dinner.

Day 05, January 15: DAKHLA - KHARGA

In the morning, breakfast and start our journey by private mini bus to the oasis of Kharga about 4 hours, capital of the entire province of "the New Valley" en route visit the city and the mausoleum of Bashandi.

Arrival in Kharga and visit the tombs of the nobles "Al Bagawat", place of refuge of the first Christians in Egypt, decorated with Christian paintings of saints and biblical stories. We also visit the temple of Hibis, dedicated to the god Amon-Ra of Hibis and Osiris. Lunch at a local restaurant and free afternoon for photographic work.

Arrival and transfer to the hotel (Hotel Pioneers or similar) Entrance formalities. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

Day 06, January 16: KHARGA - LUXOR

In the morning, breakfast and check out from the hotel. And start out route on private minibus to Luxor, about 3 hours with stops.

We will continue with the visit to the temple of Medinet Habu, built by Ramses III, one of the most important temples of antiquity that is not usually visited in the usual programs for lack of time, this is one of the largest and most beautiful.

We will visit the Tombs of the Nobles and the Colossi of Memnon. After the visit, lunch on the terrace in front of the Colossi with Ahmed.

Transfer to the hotel, check-in formalities and dinner at the hotel (Hotel Pavilion Winter palace or similar)

Day 07, January 17: LUXOR

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to the west bank, we visit Deir el Bahari, with the temple of Pharaoh Hatshepsut just at opening time.

Then we visit the Valley of the Kings, including 03 Tombs, tomb of Tutankhamun is paid directly at the box office in case you are interested.

Afterwards, transfer for lunch in a falucca on the Nile, home-cooked meals prepared by Ahmed.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Temple of Luxor, where Alexander the Great left his sanctuary and is represented as Egyptian Pharaoh in front of the God Amon Ra, this Temple was built by the him with the avenue of the sphinxes.

Finally, return to the hotel and enjoy the sunset from the roof of a hotel along the Nile contemplating the two banks.

Day 8, January 18: LUXOR - ESNA - KOM OMBO - ASSUAN

Breakfast and transfer on private mini bus, about 3 hours, to visit (just after opening its doors) the Temple of Karnak, dedicated to the god Amun, the largest temple complex in the world After the visit, departure to Aswan. Arrival in Esna and visit the temple of Esna. Lunch (Lunch Box), prepared in a restaurant in Luxor.

Continue to Kom Ombo, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, the only one dedicated to two divinities: the gods Sobek and Haroreis.

Finally, arrival in Aswan and transfer to visit in the evening the souk of Aswan, one of the oldest in the country.

Take tea in a local cafe and you can get lost in its streets. Transfer to the hotel and entry formalities.

Day 9, January 19: ASSUAN - ABU SIMBEL - ASSUAN

After breakfast, transfer to visit the Temple of Philae, to be the first, early, dedicated to the goddess Isis, located on an island in the Nile River. The temple was flooded by the river over many years until it was moved and rebuilt on the island of Agiliq in the eighties.

Transfer by road on a private minibus, about 1 hour, to Abu Simbel.

Arrival and lunch in an organic restaurant.

In the afternoon, transfer by boat to visit the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel. The temple of Abu Simbel, carved into the mountain by Ramses II.

The complex is composed of two temples. The larger one is dedicated to Ra, Ptah and Amun, the three state deities of Ancient Egypt; and houses four colossal statues of Ramses II carved into the rock facade. The smaller temple is dedicated to the goddess Hathor, personified by Nefertari, Ramses' favorite wife.

Also attend the sound and light show.

Finally, return to the hotel (Hotel Haduta Mashrilla o similar) cold dinner and rest.

Day 10, January 20: ASUAN

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to take a private ride on a felucca, a typical Egyptian sailboat, among the remains of the First Cataract, Egypt's natural border to the south.

Lunch in Aswan along the Nile.

Afterwards, we will be taken to the center of Aswan, which was and still is an important commercial enclave since ancient times. Its souk is one of the most important in North Africa for the ancient camel caravans. You can find a multitude of Sudanese silverware, handicrafts, spices .... Some pharaohs for 100 years were Nubians.

We will have time to get lost in the streets and enjoy the African scenes.

Day 11, January 21: CAIRO

Transfer to the airport ant flight to Cairo. Arrival in Cairo and transfer to visit our gateway to this fabulous destination. We will go straight to visit, right at the opening of its doors our first place to visit today, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, known as the Alabaster Mosque.

We also visit the Ibn Tulun Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Egypt and the world. Afterwards, transfer to visit the Coptic Quarter and St. Sergius Church.

Lunch in a typical restaurant. Transfer to the hotel, check in and rest.

In the evening, transfer to enjoy Khan el Khalili, Cairo's famous bazaar and its most fantastic Muslim monuments dating back to the late 14th century.

Have tea at the mirror cafe, Fishawi. Return to the hotel and dinner in a typical Egyptian restaurant in the center. (Hotel Cosmopolitan or Similar)

Day 12, January 22: CAIRO

Breakfast and transfer to Saqqara, one of the most fascinating historical and archaeological sites in all of Egypt.

The site is dominated by the famous step pyramid of King Zoser, the first pyramid built in ancient Egypt.

We also visit the funerary complex of Unas, the pyramid of Teti and some of the Mastabas of the nobles of the time as Kagemny.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Then transfer to Dahshur, to visit the place that best shows the change from the "stepped" pyramid to the "real smooth-faced" where we visit the two pyramids of King Snefru.

Return to the hotel (Hotel Cosmopolitan or Similar) to rest.

Day 13, January 23: CAIRO - SINGAPORE

Breakfast and at the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take flight back to the origin.

Day 14, January 24: SINGAPORE photography post editing

Arrival to Singapore.

Day 15, January 26: SINGAPORE photography post editing workshop

All day workshop (9AM to 5PM) at Studio 109-Desker road, where we will be edditing our best shots from the Egypt’s trip.
